Pig Latin Lessons
Hi!  My name is Dani, and I am really excited about teaching you Pig Latin.  It's is a fun secret language that is easy to learn.

The basic concept of Pig Latin is that you rearrange the words.  How?  You simply cut off the first sound and stick it on the end, attached to a "ay" sound.  It's easy, really!

For words that start with a, e, i, o and u, you just say the word and stick a "hay" at the end.

"But hay is for horses!" you protest.

Well, that's how you do it.  Here are some examples:

If there's a double consonant at the start of a word, you stick both letters onto the "ay" part.  Take these examples:

For extra credit, try some words with three consonants at the beginning:
Okay, you're probably saying,  "This is so easy to do, how can it be a secret language?"  Like I told you, Pig Latin is easy, and one word at a time is easy to understand.

Wait until you try a whole sentence ... you'll see why it's a great secret language.

Now you're an advanced Pig Latin speaker.  You're ready to do Pig Latin in ... Latin! I've picked a saying that means "Seize the Day" -- live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute of it.  It's about making the most of every moment and every day.
How about Pig Latin in French?  I love French stuff and so does my poodle, Gigi Queen of the Universe.  Here's a challenging sentence in French.  It means, "Gosh! I just broke my leg!"

Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. ave-Gay oof-pray ough-thray e-thay ight-nay at-thay our-hay ag-flay as-way ill-stay ere-thay.
